  • Digital mammography is used to screen patients for breast cancer. At Mile Bluff, mammograms are available on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4 pm. In order to utilize this convenience, patients need to have established care with a provider and be free of any specific breast cancer concerns.
  • Interventional radiology provides minimally-invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease in every organ system. It can be used to perform lung and liver biopsies, epidural steroid injections, and tube checks and changes.
  • Fluoroscopy is often used to diagnose conditions of the upper gastrointestinal tract, lower gastrointestinal tract and esophagus.
  • MRI can detect disease in the early stages without a need for surgery. This non-invasive procedure allows radiologists to examine bones and soft tissue.
  • PET scan technology is available at Mile Bluff through a portable unit. It measures important body functions such as blood flow and oxygen use.
  • Ultrasound is often used during pregnancy, but can also be used to detect small lesions in the breast and other tissues.
  • Virtual colonoscopy is a procedure that uses a CT scan to produce detailed images of the inside of the colon and rectum.
  • X-ray uses radiation to produce images of the spine, abdomen, chest, pelvis and other extremities. This service is also available in Elroy, Lake Delton, Necedah and New Lisbon.
