Mile Bluff Medical Center Inpatient Care
The Acute Care Department consists of 40 private hospital rooms for the
treatment of medical, surgical, obstetric and pediatric patients. The
hospital is located in Mauston, where registered nurses and certified
nursing assistants are on-duty 24 hours a day. The staff is committed
to individualized care, including, helping to arrange needed services
when patients are discharged.
Your Hospital Care Team
In Mile Bluff's Acute Care Department, the inpatient care team is led
by hospitalists, who collaborate with:
- Primary care providers
- Nurses
- Pharmacists
- Physical and occupational therapists
- Dietitians
- Respiratory therapists
- Other support staff members and medical specialists
During an inpatient stay,
laboratory services are available to patients 24 hours a day.
Nutritional services are also provided by the Food & Nutrition Department. Registered dietitian
nutritionists provide medical nutrition therapy to inpatients. Individuals
can choose from a number of meal options that fit within their prescribed
diet, either from the room service menu or the available main entree options.
Pharmacy services are also available to inpatients. Pharmacists and technicians prepare
and dispense medications for patient treatment, monitor patient medication
regimens for interactions, incompatibilities, dosage and accuracy. Pharmacy
staff members work closely with the rest of the hospital care team to
ensure that the best pharmaceutical care is provided to each patient.
