Physical Therapy
Supervised Exercise & Recovery Programs in Mauston
After receiving care from a hospital for an injury or illness, you may
still experience some difficulty moving and resuming your normal life.
Physical therapy is a long-term treatment program designed to help patients
overcome lingering symptoms and pains from their condition. Physical therapy
allows you to work closely with a knowledgeable physical therapist who
will design a treatment plan tailored to your condition, goals and lifestyle.
You may benefit from physical therapy if you live with:
- Back and neck pain (disc, muscular and joint problems)
- Headaches
- Shoulder or arm problems
- Knee, ankle or foot issues
- Balance and gait problems
- Arthritis and tendinitis
- Dizziness (vestibular problems)
- Lymphedema (swelling disorder)

Access to physical therapy experts without a referral
At Mile Bluff, patients can take advantage of convenient direct access
appointments for physical therapy services. Direct access allows patients
to see a physical therapist without an order (referral) from a medical
providers. This process eliminates the need for extra steps to be completed
before patients can receive the help they need. The sooner physical therapy
is started, the quicker patients can get back to being their best.
This most benefits those who experience muscle injuries. For example, the
softball player who twists a knee, the gardener who hurts his/her back,
the hiker who sprains an ankle, etc. Direct access is not meant for those
who have issues that are associated with a major condition (stroke, lymphedema,
etc.) that may require more long-term assistance.
Direct access is only covered by certain insurance carriers at this time.
Currently, Medicare and Medicaid do not provide coverage for direct access.
