Want to get the creative juices flowing? Do you still have the Bedazzler
hiding around somewhere? Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation is giving
you the perfect opportunity to get creative for a purpose.
‘Bras For a Cause’ is the foundation’s bra decorating
contest and fundraiser to support the purchase of a 3D mammography unit
at Mile Bluff Medical Center. Yes, that’s right, a bra decorating contest!
Entry is simple. Pick a bra, decorate it, and enter to win! All bra types,
sizes and styles will be accepted. Check Pinterest for ideas or come up
with your own. Get creative with sequins, flowers, feathers, and even
a theme… whatever inspires you!
Once you have your bra magnificently adorned, pay the $10 entry fee and
submit your masterpiece to the registration desk at Mile Bluff Medical
Center by Thursday, August 29.
All of the entries will be on display in the lobby of Mile Bluff Medical
Center during the month of September. Everyone is invited to view the
bras and vote for their favorite entries. Since this is a fundraising
event, every vote will cost $1. Vote as many times as you wish. All funds
will go toward bringing 3D mammography to Mauston.
The top six ‘Bras for a Cause’ vote-getters will move on to
Women’s Night Out on Thursday, October 3. The final round of voting
will take place at the event and a grand prize will be awarded to the winner.
‘Bras for a Cause’ is a fun and creative way to raise awareness
and funds for life-saving screenings. The impact that breast cancer has
on the nation, and in our community, is widely felt. Breast cancer does
not discriminate by age, race or economic status. In fact, one in every
eight women will develop invasive breast cancer at some point in her life.
Mammography is an important tool for detecting the first signs of cancer.
As technology improves, cancer can be detected earlier. The earlier it
is detected, the greater the survival rates. That is why Mile Bluff Medical
Center is bringing 3D mammography to Mauston.
Studies show that 3D mammography can:
- Improve detection of breast cancer in women of all ages
- Provide clearer images, regardless of breast tissue density
- Increase early detection of smaller, more invasive cancers
- Decrease false-positive results and call-backs for additional imaging tests
Bringing 3D mammography to Mile Bluff is an investment in healthcare excellence
and is truly a gift to the entire region. With this equipment we will
be able to provide world-class breast cancer screenings locally. To learn
