Mighty Oak Award

The Mile Bluff Medical Center Mighty Oak Award was created to recognize staff across the organization — whether caring for patients directly, supporting care behind the scenes, or serving patients through essential services who consistently go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience.

Eligibility

  • Open to all staff — clinical and non-clinical — who make a difference in the lives of patients and families through service, empathy, and commitment to excellence.
  • Staff may be nominated for individual actions or ongoing contributions that positively impact patient satisfaction and experience.

Nomination Criteria

Nominees should demonstrate:

  • Exceptional dedication to patient experience
  • Compassion, empathy, and professionalism
  • Efforts that go above and beyond normal job expectations
  • A positive impact on patient care, comfort, or satisfaction

Nominations for the Mighty Oak Award may be submitted by patients and their families, as well as by colleagues and organizational leaders.

Symbolism of the Oak Tree

  • Deep Roots: Represent compassion, empathy, and professionalism—values that ground an employee’s work and help patients feel supported, respected, and safe.
  • Strong Trunk: Symbolizes dependability and integrity. Award recipients stand firm in challenging situations and consistently go above and beyond normal job expectations to ensure excellent care.
  • Wide, Protective Branches: Reflect the positive impact these employees have on patient comfort, care, and satisfaction—offering reassurance, advocacy, and support when it matters most.
  • Longevity & Growth: Signify the lasting impression recipients leave on patients, families, and colleagues, helping shape a culture of excellence and trust.

The Mighty Oak Award honors those whose unwavering commitment and compassionate actions create a strong foundation for exceptional patient care and a lasting positive experience.
