Helping Patients Get to and From Appointments

Mile Bluff Medical Center offers rides for patients who need help getting to appointments or going home after a hospital stay or surgery.

Two Types of Transportation

1. Mile Bluff Transport Van - Wheelchair accessible

• For people with a physical/mental impairment that requires an outside party to provide safe travel (taxi, mass transit, private driver, etc)
• Can take patients to Medicaid-covered appointments
• Can take patients between the hospital and nursing home

2. Community Cares Transport Van

• For people who can ride in a regular car
• Can take patients home from the ER or surgery
• Can also take patients to and from appointments

When It’s Available

• Monday to Friday
• From 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM*
• Serves Juneau County and nearby areas (with approval)
• This is not a free service — you can pay privately or use medical assistance

*Other times dependent on driver availability.
