Construction Update

from Mile Bluff's Gateway Project

In November 2022, Mile Bluff purchased the former Shopko building in Mauston. Now referred to as the "Gateway Building," it provides more that 26,000 square feet of space that will serve as the new home for Mile Bluff's Mauston dialysis unit, urgent care, and Mile Bluff Pharmacies.

April Progress:

Crews on site: Market & Johnson, Hallmark Drywall, Kish Electric, Master Metals

  • Finished infills on the interior concrete
  • Set footings pads and installed rebar
  • Poured concrete footings
  • Installed top track for walls as per DSPD specifications
  • Started framing interior structural steel stud walls
  • Installed above ceiling ductwork hangers
  • Installed large ductwork in the above ceiling space
  • Demolition of existing electrical system in preparation for the new system with generator backup
  • Wood backing for electrical
  • Hung drywall in mechanical room
  • Installed boxes and pipe for in-wall electrical

Fundraising Update

To support the Gateway and Emergency Department expansion project, Mile Bluff Medical Center Foundation has launched a capital fundraising campaign - For You. With You. - with the goal of raising $5 million to help offset the costs of this $17 million project.​​
