From storefront to a center for healthcare excellence

In 2025, Mile Bluff opened the Gateway Center in Mauston, now home to Mile Bluff Pharmacy, Urgent Care, and dialysis services. What was once a vacant Shopko building has been transformed into a beautiful new addition to our community, providing essential healthcare services.

The Gateway Center was the first phase of a $17 million expansion project. Now that the facility is fully open, Mile Bluff is preparing for phase two of construction, which will remodel the Emergency Department at the medical center's main campus.

Mile Bluff's current Emergency Department is fully equipped and has reliably served our community for decades. Before the Gateway Center was built, Mile Bluff's Emergency Department and Urgent Care shared the same space. As the demand for emergency services grew and patients wanted more convenience from urgent care, we knew it was time to give each department its own dedicated area.

Now that Urgent Care has moved to the Gateway Center, the Emergency Department will be transformed when remodeling begins. The updated space will enhance the patient experience, create a more efficient environment for our care team, and ultimately transform how Mile Bluff delivers emergency care in out community.
