Cardiac Rehabilitation

You Can Have a Happier, Healthier Heart!

Getting Blood Pressure

Cardiac rehabilitation provides monitored exercise, education and support to individuals with heart failure, as well as to those who have experienced a heart attack, heart surgery, or other cardiac procedures. Staff members work closely with primary care providers and cardiac specialists to meet the needs of each individual.

What to Expect

Cardiac rehabilitation participants generally meet three times a week for up to 36 sessions. During that time, they benefit from individual assessment and cardiac monitoring at each session. There is ongoing communication between all members of the team - both routinely and when concerns arise - to assure that patients are on their way to recovery.

The cardiac rehabilitation team provides counseling, education, and support to participants as they make lifestyle changes to modify their risk factors for heart disease.

This may include assistance with:

  • Managing stress
  • Getting blood pressure under control
  • Losing weight
  • Quitting smoking
  • Controlling diabetes
  • Starting an exercise program
  • Making informed nutrition choices

Mile Bluff's program has met the standards and has been awarded certification through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
