Event Details

This one-day class is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.  This nationally-recognized program will be an educational class filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.

Led by Mile Bluff's Education Team, students will learn...

Safety Skills - Determine how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.

Child Care Skills - Get tips on how to manage behavior. This is helpful to stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. They will learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.

First Aid & Rescue Skills - Learn skills such as choking rescue and CPR, as well as how to respond to injuries and illnesses.

Life & Business Skills - Hear how to best screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers. This will set students up for success now and in the future.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Registration is required and class size is limited.
