Interventional Pain Management

Helping you find relief from pain

When pain interferes with your day-to-day life, it can be physically and emotionally draining. Mile Bluff's interventional pain management services may be the answer to helping you reduce the negative impact that pain has on your life.

What is Interventional Pain Management?

Interventional pain management can often be a good option for those who have not found pain relief through other treatment options. It focuses on treating the symptoms of a disease or injury (pain), rather than the condition itself. Our providers use minimally-invasive treatment options to help relieve, reduce and/or manage your pain. The goal is to get you back to your everyday activities quickly, and without heavy reliance on medications.

What conditions are treated?

Our providers offer a full range of treatments and services to help those living with chronic and/or acute pain. There are options for those who have pain from issues such as migraines and cancer, as well as from bone, muscle and nerve problems.

The most common forms of pain we treat, include:

  • Arthritis pain
  • Back pain
  • Cancer pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Complex regional pain syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraine headaches
  • Myofascial pain
  • Neck pain
  • Nerve (neuropathic) pain
  • Post-surgical pain
  • More

What treatments are used?

At Mile Bluff, our interventional pain management professionals treat chronic, acute and cancer-related pain. They use a variety of techniques, including injections, minimally-invasive procedures and therapies. The goal is to improve your function, provide you with relief from pain, prevent prolonged disability, and help you to be as comfortable as possible living life as you want.

Based on your condition and needs, we can use a variety of treatments and services to manage pain, including:

  • Nerve blocks: Medications are used to block pain signals sent from damaged nerves.
  • Injections: Anesthetic and steroids are injected into the body to reduce joint and tissue inflammation.
  • Radiofrequency ablation: A minimally-invasive procedure used to disable spinal nerves, and prevent them from sending pain signals to the brain.

Who provides this service?

At Mile Bluff, interventional pain management services are provided by certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) who are fellowship-trained and board-certified in non-surgical pain management. The CRNAs work collaboratively with primary care providers and other professionals to identify treatments that work for patients.

At your initial appointment, your pain will be assessed; and a personalized treatment plan will be recommended based on your condition. No referral required.
