Youth Mental Health First Aid training is designed to teach parents, family members, school staff and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing mental health or addiction challenges.

This is a FREE training. Pre-registration is required. Once registered, you will receive log-in information to complete the 2-hour, online, self-paced introduction.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.

Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders, and eating disorders.

These trainings are FREE to anyone in the community. They are led by a certified instructor who follows a national curriculum and uses teaching standards while emphasizing hope for recovery. Once this course is completed, attendees will be certified in Mental Health First Aid.
