At Mile Bluff Medical Center Volunteers at Mile Bluff Medical Center are important members of the health care team. Volunteers maintain high quality patient care and perform a variety of functions throughout the hospital. Volunteers feel needed and receive satisfaction from giving of their time and their talents.GIVE OF YOUR TIME
Volunteers are usually scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. You can choose hours that fit into both your schedule and ours. You can come in for a few hours a day, a week, a month. Whatever you can give. There is no experience necessary, just a desire to give of your time and talents. HOW DO YOU BECOME A VOLUNTEER? Call
the Pastoral Care Department at Mile Bluff Medical Center 608-847-6161 Ext. 217. There are two brief forms to fill out. Then you will go through an orientation to the Volunteering Program and the department in which you will volunteer. ·
Distribute
refreshments and reading materials to patients ·
Visit
with patients ·
Read to
patients ·
Work in
the medical library ·
Do filing
in various business offices of different departments ·
Light
typing and office work ·
Deliver
mail and flowers ·
Language
interpretation for various ethnic patient populations ·
Help
with stocking shelves ·
Escort
patients ·
