Myrna Kelley presents apron collection at Terrace Heights Retirement Community in Mauston By Amanda Emery
The selections on display were from many different time periods. Some of Myrna’s earliest pieces were a hundred years old, and others were ‘novelty’ aprons of today. Through her collection, Myrna told a story of how fashion, lifestyles and the function of aprons have changed over the years. She put together a slideshow presentation that explained the history of each type of apron, and displayed some pieces that corresponded with the slideshow. Myrna said she started collecting aprons about a year or so ago, and has only done a few presentations since acquiring the majority of her pieces. She is a natural presenter though, with all of those in attendance enjoying every minute of Myrna’s visit. Some participants even commented they couldn’t wait for her to return for another afternoon of ‘fashion’ entertainment! This is just one of the many events held each year at Terrace Heights Retirement Community. Coming up on Tuesday, February, 8, the public is invited to join the tenants of Terrace Heights when the annual game of Valentine’s BINGO takes place.
