HEALTH FAIRS - Appointments are required for all tests. -FREE heart disease and diabetes risk assessments -FREE blood sugar and blood pressure screenings -FREE hearing tests (8 - 11 am only – call to verify that tests will be available) -Total cholesterol tests (no fasting) for $10, or lipid profile tests (12-hour fasting) for $20 -Refreshments & door prizes Thursday, February 16 from 7 to 11 am. - Necedah Family Medical Center. Appointments are required. Do you know what your blood pressure is and to where it should be? Is your cholesterol at a healthy level? Do you know your specific risks for developing diabetes and/or heart disease? If you responded “no” to any of these questions and want to know the answers, be sure to attend a health fair! You will receive free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, and will have the opportunity to discuss your specific risks for developing diabetes and heart disease with Mile Bluff’s healthcare professionals as well. For $10, you can also have a total cholesterol test (no fasting), or for $20, a lipid profile test (12-hour fasting required). You will also be able to enjoy refreshments, and enter for the chance to win door prizes. Mile Bluff’s healthcare professionals will review the results with you right after your tests are completed, and give you tips on how to reduce your risks for developing diabetes and heart disease. Results will be sent to your primary care provider as well. The information obtained from these tests, along with the educational tools you will receive from the healthcare professionals, are the first steps in becoming proactive in your health and reducing your risk for developing disease.
