JAM students from St. Paul’s entertain at Terrace Heights By Amanda Emery
There were smiles all around Terrace Heights Retirement Community in Mauston on December 9, when the tenants were treated to some musical entertainment by students from St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mauston. The JAM (Jesus in the Afternoon for Me) kids put on a short show of Christmas carols and encouraged everyone in attendance to sing along, which they did. Under the direction of their instructor, Kathy Behnke, the kids sang a variety of songs including Jingle Bells, Go Tell it on the Mountain, We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Silent Night, Away in a Manger and Joy to the World. At the end of the performance, the children asked the tenants to remember the reason for the season - the birth of Jesus - and wished everyone a Merry Christmas! The JAM program is composed of children ages 4 through grade six, and is open to all area students in those age groups. They meet at St. Paul’s in Mauston on Thursdays from 3:45 to 5 pm throughout the school year.
