Hillsboro’s Mary Siefert entertains at Terrace Heights by Amanda Emery
However, it was well worth the wait for the tenants, as well as those from the community, who were in attendance. Mary brought her guitar, keyboard and beautiful voice to treat the audience to seasonal pieces. Mary performed a variety of Christmas carols. Her first set included familiar numbers such as Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. Mary also kept “the reason for the season” in mind as she sang a hymn medley that included traditional selections such as Little Drummer Boy and Away in a Manger. Mary sang her favorite hymn, as well. One of the members of the audience described it as, “The most beautiful performance of O Holy Night I have ever heard.” Mary encouraged her audience to participate and interact with her. During another set of songs, Mary handed out bells and told everyone to help her out with Jingle Bells, O Saint Nick and Angels We Have Heard on High. With all the variety in her performances, it is easy to see why Mary is one of the favorite acts to come to Terrace Heights. There is sure to be anticipation until her next appearance. This is just one of the many events held at Terrace Heights throughout the year that the public is encouraged to attend. Coming up on Tuesday, February 9, members of the community are invited to join the tenants at the annual Valentine’s BINGO scheduled to begin at 2 pm. Terrace Heights will also welcome pianist and entertainer, Kathryn Baake, for her first appearance as she performs a show entitled “Love and Valentines” on Wednesday, February 10 at 2 pm. On December 23 Mary
Siefert shared her musical talents at Terrace Heights Retirement Community in
Mauston. She was originally scheduled to appear on December 9, but had to
post-pone the concert due to inclement weather conditions.
