Noe earns infection control certification By Kathy Behnke (4/3/09) Mile Bluff is proud to announce that Kathy Noe, RN has been awarded her Certification in Infection Control. She earned this credential by participating in a program that focuses on six key areas of importance as determined by the Certification of Board of Infection Control. The topics covered in the course are: identification of infectious disease processes, surveillance and epidemiologic investigation, infection prevention and control, program management and communication, education and research, and infection control aspects of employee health. Kathy commented, “Being at a smaller hospital, you don’t always come across certain infections. Taking this course helped me to get a picture of what’s out there so I can be more prepared to handle things if they do come to Mauston.” She continued, “The certification gives me more confidence in how to research and find answers when people call and have questions too.” Kathy has been a member of the Mile Bluff staff for over 30 years. She has worked in the Quality Department in the past, and continues to work in the emergency room and serve as the Infection Control Coordinator. The community can rest assured that the staff members at Mile Bluff Medical Center, such as Kathy Noe, are always looking for ways to broaden their knowledge base to help protect and maintain the health of the people they serve. Congratulations to Kathy for her achievements in keeping Mile Bluff a safer place!
