Outpatient Counseling Services
Sometimes a diagnosis of diabetes, breast or prostate cancer, or other life
threatening disease can effect a partner as much as it does the patient.
Discussing options and feelings can be helpful n looking at the effects of
disease on the patient and the rest of the family.
Speaking with a Counselor
may be a way to find an inner calm, a better solution, or a more positive self
image.
What you can
expect from us?
Staff are trained Doctorate or Masters level personnel. All staff are
licensed and/or certified with the state of Wisconsin. Staff regularly
train to keep their skills and licenses and certificates current.
You will be informed of your rights and the benefits and side effects of
counseling before you begin any treatment. You may also be asked to have
an assessment session with the psychologist near the beginning of your therapy.
What we expect
from you. . .
It is expected that you attend one assessment
meeting with the psycholoist and staff team. This session is to give you
the most objective look into the issues that are troubling you.
It is expected that you keep all appointments.
If for some reason you are unable to keep an appointm, ent, a call should be made
to cancel so that the time may be made available to other individuals. It
is expected that you do the work that counseling requires.
